Geisel Library Through the Trees

from $60.00

A view of Geisel Library behind a eucalyptus tree. The Geisel Library was designed by William Pereira and is near the center of the University of California San Diego campus. The library is named in honor of Audrey and Theodor Seuss Geisel. The tower is a prime example of brutalist architecture. It rises 8 stories to a height of 110 ft.

One of my self-assigned projects is to photograph architectural works while traveling. On a recent trip to San Diego, I went out to the Geisel Library on two separate occasions to photograph this incredible building. While walking through the trees that surround the building, this angle caught my eye. Normally, I would retouch things like the birds nest in the middle of the frame, but I left it in on this one because it seems fitting for a building named after Dr. Suess.
